Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Group
Medical Center East offers a monthly support group for women who have experienced breast cancer. You will have the opportunity to meet other women at different stages of recovery, including some that had breast cancer years ago. Camp Bluebird

This retreat offers a unique experience for adult cancer patients by promoting a sense of well-being among campers, teaching them how to live with cancer and cancer treatments, and providing them with a time for listening and learning, sharing and caring, and rest and relaxation. Campers may participate in recreational activities, arts and crafts, support activities, and daily devotions. "Look Good...Feel Better"
In the fight against cancer, everything counts–mind and body, appearance, and self-confidence. The "Look Good…Feel Better" program is a supportive, informative and enjoyable first step toward renewed self-esteem, self confidence and emotional recovery for women cancer patients undergoing radiation and/or chemotherapy. The group meets on the third Monday of January, March, May, July, September and November from 1-3 p.m. The program is free of charge, however a reservation is required. Reach to Recovery
Reach to Recovery is a volunteer visitation program that helps breast cancer patients meet the emotional, physical and cosmetic needs related to breast cancer. Call 205-838-3519 or e-mail lmfoshee@ehs-inc.com for a referral to the Reach to Recovery program.

T.O.U.C.H Cancer Support Group
This support group is for people who have had cancer or who are living with cancer and undergoing treatment. It provides information, understanding, caring and hope for cancer patients and their families. The group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. More intensive support is offered following the TOUCH group meeting. A light lunch is provided.

Heartbeat Support Group
Bi-monthly educational and social meetings provide ongoing information for open heart surgery patients and their families. A newsletter is mailed every other month to members with up-to-date information, group news and recipes. Hospice Support Group
Sponsored by Medical Center Hospice, this monthly support group is available to anyone currently coping with the loss of a loved one to a terminal illness. Low Vision Support Group
Persons of all ages with visual impairments meet at MCE for educational and social activities. A Low Vision Support Group meeeting is held the last Wednesday of every month, and Shuttle pick up is available with a reservation. Surgical Weight Loss Support Group
St. Vincent's East has two support groups for surgical weight loss patients. In a monthly meetings, men and women who are considering surgical weight loss surgery, those currently in treatment, and past surgical weight loss patients meet for discussion, support, encouragement and fellowship. Post-op members offer advice and share their experiences in a way that only someone who has "been there" can. We encourage pre-op patients, their family and friends to ask questions and express concerns. Guest speakers provide education and insight and include physicians, nutritionists, long term post-op patients and others. The first support group is for Gastric-Band patients. It is called BANDERS4LIFE. This group meets the third Saturday of every month at 10:30 a.m. in classrooms 1&2 at St.Vincent's East. The second support group is for Gastric Bypass patients. It is called SAINTS FOR WELLNESS. This group meets at St. Vincent's East on the third Saturday of each month at 1 p.m. in classrooms 1 and 2.
