St. Vincent’s Birmingham, formerly St. Vincent’s Hospital, was founded in 1898 by the Daughters of Charity as a ministry dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care designed to sustain and improve the health of the community as well as its citizens. The all-private room facility is a 372-bed, acute care health ministry serving the seven-county Birmingham metropolitan area of more than 1.1 million people.
St. Vincent’s Birmingham offers a spectrum of care ranging from the latest medical technology to prayers at the bedside. From a state-of-the-art Cancer Center to an on-site Fitness and Wellness Center, St. Vincent’s Birmingham specializes in medical services including Oncology, Cardiology, Women’s and Children’s Services, Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, Neurology, Community/Corporate Wellness Services, and Surgical Services.
